Description of Linyphia triangularis (Common hammock-weaver)

Physical Characteristics

Female 6 mm.
Abdomen with a white-fringed dark leaf-shaped figure on top and dark sides with white spots.
Carapace pale brown to orange brown with a dark border along the sides and a dark median band which is forked on the front side.
Legs and palps pale brown to yellow-brown with slightly darker joints.

Male 5 to 7 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In bushes in forests and other areas.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Summer and autumn.
