Description of Ero flammeola

Physical Characteristics

Female 2 to 3.5 mm.
Abdomen with two barely visible, blunt lumps. In front of these lumps dark brown spotted. Behind the lumps yellow-brown to orange-brown with a broad horizontal dark brown median band.
Carapace yellow-brown to orange-brown with a broad dark brown border around, a dark brown eye area and a thin dark brown median band. Sternum yellow-brown with six dark brown dots along the side.
Legs and palps yellow-brown with dark brown annulations.

Male 2.5 to 3 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female, but a bit more reddish in colour.

Habitat

The portrayed specimen has been found in a garden. No further information about the habitat is known.

Dissemination

Occurs in the Mediterranean area and the Canary Islands.

The portrayed specimen has been found in June. No further information about the period is known.
