Description of Heliophanus aeneus

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 7 mm.
Abdomen with strong copper or green metallic shine and a white band along the front and sides. At the rear two white spots.
Carapace with strong copper or green metallic shine and a thin white border along the underside.
Legs dark with light stripes.
Palps light yellow.

Male 4.5 to 5.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female. The white spots on the abdomen can be a bit merged into each other.Palps are black with white stripes.

Habitat

On plants and trees and between rocks.

Distribution

Occurs in almost the whole of Europe, but not very common.

Period

Almost all year.
