Description of Pellenes moreanus

Physical Characteristics

Female 4.5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen dark red-brown with a white border and a white median band which not completely reaches the front.
Carapace black with a white, square-shaped band along the edge and orange rings around the eyes.
Legs reddish brown to dark brown with white hairs. Femora I and II black.
Palps with long white hairs.

Male 3.5 to 4.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female. The white band on the carapace is missing and all femora are black. Leg Pair I is enlarged.

Habitat

Warm, stony areas in and on plants.

Distribution

Greece and Macedonia.

Period

The portrayed specimen has been found in June. No further information about the period is known.
