Description of Sitticus pubescens

Physical Characteristics

Female 4.5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen grey brown to dark grey with some pairs of white spots on top and light hairs along the sides, front and back.
Carapace grey brown to dark grey with white spots between and next to the posterior eyes. Around the anterior eyes almost white hair.
Legs dark-light annulated.
Palps with long light hairs.

Male 4 to 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female. Palps, however, with a dark tip.

Habitat

Highly variable. From buildings and walls to tree trunks and rocks.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
