Description of Zodarion germanicum

Physical Characteristics

Female 3 to 5 mm.
Abdomen shiny black-brown with faint light spots.
Carapace black-brown.
Legs and palps yellow-brown with black and brown femora.

Male 3 to 4 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Warm sandy areas, forest edges, grassy slopes and quarries.

Distribution

Occurs in Eastern Europe, but rare. The portrayed specimen, however, has been found in Spain.

Period

Summer.
