Description of Tegenaria domestica (Domestic house spider)

Physical Characteristics

Female 7 to 12 mm.
Abdomen yellow-brown to grey-brown with a faint cardiac mark and faint spots behind it.
Carapace yellow-brown to grey-brown with a faint, slightly lighter median band and slightly lighter sides.
Legs and palps yellow-brown to brown.

Male 6 to 9 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Mainly in and on buildings and houses, as well as under stones.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
