Description of Pholcus phalangioides (Long bodied cellar spider or Daddy-Long-Legs spider)

Physical Characteristics

Female 7 to 10 mm.
Abdomen yellowish or greyish with darker spots on top.
Carapace pale with a large dark spot on top.
Legs pale brown with darker joints.
Palps pale brown.

Male 7 to 8 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In buildings, caves, cellars etc.

Distribution

Very common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
