Description of Paidiscura pallens

Physical Characteristics

Female 1.5 to 2 mm.
Abdomen orange-brown with faint dark markings. Sometimes with some clearer dark cross bands.
Carapace pale with a faint dark median band.
Legs and palps pale with slightly darker joints.

Male 1 to 1.5 mm.
Abdomen dark brown-yellow mixed to black with white bands along the side.
Carapace pale brown with a very broad black median band which sometimes coveres almost the entire top.
Legs pale brown.
Palps pale brown with black tarsi.

Habitat

Various areas such as forests, heathlands, dunes, marshes and gardens.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Almost all year.
