Description of Alopecosa trabalis

Physical Characteristics

Female 8 to 15 mm.
Abdomen brown with a, only on the upper side white-defined, cardiac mark and two white dots.
Carapace black-brown with a broad light brown median band and a broad light brown band along the edge.
Legs and palps brown.

Male 8 to 11 mm.
Abdomen dark brown with a very clear, black outlined cardiac mark in a light brown median band. Sides with some white dots.
Carapace as in females.
Legs and palps brown.

Habitat

Open spaces in forests and heathlands. Up to 2,000 m.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring and summer.
