Description of Oecobius navus

Physical Characteristics

Female 2 to 2.5 mm.
Abdomen light grey-brown to yellow-brown with a dark brown band along the front and a pattern of brown and dark brown spots.
Carapace yellow-brown with a wavy dark brown median band, dark brown circular arranged dots along the sides and a dark brown band along the edge.
Legs and palps pale with dark brown annulations.

Male 2 to 2.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In forests, heathlands, under stones. Up to the north in buildings.

Distribution

Occurs in large parts of Europe.

Period

All year.
