Description of Runcinia grammica

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 7.5 mm.
Abdomen pale yellow or white with dark longitudinal bands on top and along the sides.
Carapace pale yellowish green with two dark longitudinal bands on top, a thin white longitudinal band in the middle and a thin white cross band at the front between the eyes.
Legs pale yellowish green. Downwards slightly darker.
Palps pale yellowish green.

Male 2.5 to 4.5 mm.
Resembles the female but is less clearly patterned. First two pairs of legs longer and from the patellae downwards with dark brown annulations.

Habitat

In flowers, shrubs and grass on warm places.

Distribution

Common in the Mediterranean area. Rare up to the north.

Period

Summer.
