Description of Philodromus rufus

Physical Characteristics

Female 4.5 to 6.5 mm.
Abdomen pale yellow with a light yellow-brown cardiac mark and thin lines at the rear. Along the sides also slightly darker.
Carapace pale yellow with two light brown longitudinal bands.
Legs pale yellow-green. Towards the end a little darker.
Palps pale yellow-green.

Male 4 to 5 mm.
Markings almost identical to the female, but darker and sometimes more reddish coloured.

Habitat

On sunny places in bushes and plants.

Distribution

Occurs in the whole of Europe, but not common.

Period

Spring and summer.
