Description of Rhysodromus fallax (Sand running spider)

Physical Characteristics

Female 4.5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen light sandy coloured with a yellow-brown cardiac mark and white and yellow-brown spots along the sides.
Carapace light sandy coloured with white and yellow-brown spots.
Legs and palps light sandy coloured with yellow-brown and dark brown spots. Tarsi and metatarsi of the legs yellow-brown.

Male 3 to 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female..

Habitat

Sandy coastal areas and domestic dunes. The spider is because its colour is very hard to find on the sand.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Summer.
