Description of Nomisia exornata

Physical Characteristics

Strongly resembles Nomisia aussereri.
Female 4 to 8 mm.
Abdomen brown haired with some black spots and anteriorly a black area.
Carapace brown haired with some black spots or stripes along the side and posteriorly a black area.
Legs dark brown haired.
Palps dark brown haired.

Male 4 to 7 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

On sand and rocks in dry, sunny areas and gardens.

Distribution

Common in the Mediterranean area.

Period

Spring and summer.
