Description of Parasteatoda lunata

Physical Characteristics

Female 2.5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen red or black with white spots on the front. Orange brown with slanting white stripes and black spots on top.
Carapace dark reddish brown to black-brown.
Legs pale brown with variable dark annulations.
Palps pale brown to dark brown.

Male 2.5 to 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In trees.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring and summer.
