Description of Pachygnatha clercki

Physical Characteristics

Female 5.5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen with white or yellowish outlined brown leaf-shaped figure. In the centre of this figure is a white or yellowish interrupted longitudinal stripe.
Carapace brown with a black median band, black lateral bands and some black stripes on top.
Legs and palps yellow-brown.

Male 4.5 to 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female. Abdomen with darker leave-shaped figure and a whiter outline and median band.

Habitat

In moist, shady grasslands and meadows, often near water.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
