Description of Salticus cingulatus

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 6 mm.
Abdomen predominantly white haired with black triangles in the midline with a light interior.
Carapace approximately the same markings as in Salticus scenicus, however, less clear and area around the anterior eyes less white haired.
Legs light-dark annulated.
Palps white.

Male 4 to 5 mm.
Strongly resembles the male of Salticus scenicus. Legs, however, clearly annulated.

Habitat

Mainly on the bark of trees and on fences.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring and summer.
