Description of Gibbaranea gibbosa

Physical Characteristics

Female 7 to 8 mm.
Abdomen anteriorly with two high lumps. Colour green or brown with a dark brown leaf-shaped figure.
Carapace black brown with a broad, lighter coloured median band.
Legs black brown with lighter annulations.

Male 5 to 6 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Shrubs and trees.

Distribution

Occurs in the whole of Europe. More common in warm areas.

Period

Spring and summer.
