Description of Singa hamata

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 8 mm.
Abdomen white, with two broad black brown bands on top which are interrupted halfway by multiple white stripes.
Carapace dark brown.
Legs and palps dark reddish brown with darker ends.

Male 4 to 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Sunny, usually moist areas in low vegetation such as heather.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring and summer.
