Description of Nigma flavescens

Physical Characteristics

Female 3 to 4 mm.
Abdomen pale red to red with a darker cardiac mark and darker chevrons behind it.
Carapace reddish brown with a white outline and white hairs on the head. These may be only sparsely present.
Legs and palps pale yellowish to reddish.

Male 2 to 3 mm.
Markings almost identical to the female, but darker coloured.

Habitat

On leaves of trees, shrubs and plants.

Distribution

Occurs in large parts of Europe, but not very common.

Period

Spring and summer.
