Description of Tenuiphantes mengei

Physical Characteristics

Colour variable.

Female 1.5 to 2.5 mm.
Abdomen yellow-brown to black-brown with brown, sometimes interrupted, chevrons with small white spots.
Carapace brown to black-brown.
Legs and palps yellow-brown with slightly darker joints.

Male 1.6 to 2.5 mm.
Almost identical drawn and colored like the female.

Habitat

In undergrowth and moss and under stones.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
