Description of Uroctea durandi

Physical Characteristics

Female approximately 15 mm.
Abdomen black with five white to yellow spots.
Carapace black or dark reddish brown.
Legs and palps orange (subadult) to dark reddish brown or black.

Male 6 to 10 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Hot, dry regions in heathlands, under tree bark and stones and sometimes in buildings.

Distribution

Occurs in the Mediterranean area, but not very common.

Period

All year.
