Description of Segestria bavarica

Physical Characteristics

Female 10 to 14 mm.
Abdomen light brown to brown with a row of contiguous dark brown spots with a light centre on top and small dark spots along the sides.
Carapace dark brown.
Legs and palps light-dark annulated.

Male 7 to 10 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In crevices in walls and rocks, under rocks and bark, and in buildings.

Distribution

Occurs in almost the whole of Europe, but not common.

Period

All year.
