Description of Episinus truncatus

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 6.5 mm.
Abdomen remarkably triangular shaped. Color reddish brown to black-brown with a thin transverse yellow line at the widest part.
Carapace black-brown.
Legs mostly black-brown with pale metatarsi and tarsi. Femora of pair of legs IV pale. Pair of legs III entirely pale.
Palps black-brown with pale tarsi.

Male 5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In low plants and shrubs.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Summer.
