Description of Parasteatoda tepidariorum

Physical Characteristics

Female 3.5 to 7.5 mm.
Abdomen pale-brown to yellowish brown-black marbled with (sometimes unclear) slanting white stripes on top.
Carapace yellow-brown with a thin dark band along the edge.
Legs and palps pale brown with dark annulations.

Male 3.5 to 6.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

On walls and trees, also common in buildings

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
