Description of Zodarion italicum

Physical Characteristics

Female 2 to 4.5 mm.
Abdomen shiny dark purplish brown.
Carapace orange to reddish brown. Sometimes darker at the front.
Legs and palps orange.

Male 1.5 to 3 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Gardens, vineyards and natural habitats.

Distribution

Common in the Mediterranean area and Western Europe.

Period

The portrayed specimen has been found in June. No further information about the period is known.
